GIB Executive Changes 10/18/2000 The New Zealand Game Industry Board announced this week that its Chairman and Deputy Chairman have been re-elected unopposed and that an appointment has been made to replace departing CEO, Collier Isaacs. Clive Jermy will serve another 12-month term as Chairman as will his deputy Andrew Thomson. Mr Jermy said it was an honour to have been re-elected along with Mr Thomson and he looks forward to serving the Board and the industry as best he is able for the next year. "With reform and restructuring now behind us we have a strong and stable organisation that is moving ahead and championing the causes of the deer industry through our various partnerships very well," he said. Mr Jermy confirmed that Chief Executive Officer Collier Isaacs will depart as planned when his contract expires in December. Mr Isaacs, who has been in the position since December 1998 and on the Board’s executive staff for 11 years, is leaving the deer industry to take up a new position. "Collier Isaacs has been an important part of the executive for a long time and has done a wonderful job," Mr Jermy said. "He is very professional and extremely well-liked in the industry which is a hard combination to find. The Board will miss him and wish him well in what looks to be a great career ahead." Mr Jermy said the Board’s present General Manager –Marketing, Mr MJ Loza, will replace Mr Isaacs as Chief Executive Officer from 1 January 2001. "The appointment of MJ Loza as Chief Executive Officer gives the Board the benefit of vast in-house experience. He is a dynamic individual who has held all key venison and velvet management positions during his 6 years at the Game Industry Board. His valuable experience will ensure a smooth transition, provide stability and maintain momentum." The Board will appoint a Venison Marketing Services Manager to replace Mr Loza. |
